News is updated regularly and in real time. News is organized into categories and regions. On the main page we can find all the latest news without filtering according to either categories or regions. With all the displayed news a thumbnail of the article’s picture is provided if available. There is also a brief description of the article and links for more information on this article or on the category that this article belongs to.

Categories
Provided is a list of available categories that can be used to get categorized news. For example, if an individual has the need to view political news only then he can chose the “Politics” category and so on.

Regions
Also, another type of categorization is to filter news by the region or country that the news belongs to. So, for example, if only news for Kuwait is needed, the “Kuwait” region can be selected.

News Cast
The ability to view all the news for a certain date is very important in information gathering. Thus, the portal provides this service to the users, and gives the ability to choose the date of which they need to view the news. The news list has also an indication to fresh news and the exact time and date the information was published. A field that describes the category that news belongs to is also provided.

Search
It is evident how important it is to provide an easy way for searching through an archive of thousands of articles. The portal has two search modes: simple and advanced both depending on the specified search phrase and selected date. The simple search would return 0 or more matching articles that can be viewed directly. Matching records can contain all, one or more, or even the exact search phrase provided. Advanced searching on the other hand utilizes a Thesaurus that enables multiple levels of categorization and classification of news into different categories that match the phrase. This makes way for a more comprehensive search that helps the users find exactly what they need.

A collection of pictures old and new can be viewed through this service. Users can search or view by category.

Newspapers Headlines
This service gives the user a view of the headlines in newspapers of the region.
