This module is a stand-alone program that connects to the stock exchange and captures its data. Connection is done wither using a serial link or by a TCP/IP link. Captured data streams are parsed and posted to a central database available for use in the Portfolio and the online trading systems. Different types of records are generated from the parsing of the data streams, such as stock listing, stock market prices, pending orders, executed trades and sector index. Erroneous data is stored in special files to be later analyzed.
